Description
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our float pool. The RN will provide high-quality care across various departments, including MedSurg, Telemetry, and Progressive Care Units (PCU). This role requires versatility, strong clinical skills, and the ability to adapt to various patient populations.
Responsibilities
- Deliver patient care in MedSurg, Telemetry, and PCU units, ensuring optimal patient outcomes.
- Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms; familiarity with common dysrhythmias is essential.
- Administer medications and titrate IV drips as required, including Heparin, Cardizem, Amiodarone, Nitro, Dopamine, Dobutamine, and Insulin.
- Assist in the care of patients post-procedure, particularly from the cardiac catheterization lab.
- Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans.
- Document patient assessments and interventions accurately using Cerner.
Qualifications
- Must hold a valid nursing license.
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in a PCU setting.
- Required certifications: BLS and ACLS.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to varying patient needs.
- Experience and comfort in managing multiple patient conditions, particularly in geriatric and orthopedic populations.
Work Environment
- Nurse-to-patient ratios: PCU 1:4; MedSurg Tele 1:5-6.
- Utilization of nurse aides to assist with patient care across settings.
- Work with advanced respiratory equipment, including CPAP and BiPAP devices.
- Regular scheduling with shifts typically from 7 AM to 7 PM and 7 PM to 7 AM.
Scheduling and Orientation
- Flexible scheduling with the expectation of working alternate weekends.
- Orientation includes a general hospital overview followed by unit-specific training.
- Advance scheduling available 6 weeks out for 4-week periods.
Location
Opportunities available across multiple locations in the region, specifically in East and West locations.
Additional Information
- No call or standby requirements.
- Cancellations may occur up to four shifts per contract.
