Registered Nurse (RN)

Unit Information

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our Long Term Care team. This facility is located in [City, State] and has a total of 26 beds for residents.

Role Responsibilities

• Act as charge nurse and oversee day-to-day nursing operations
• Administer medications and perform wound care
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team as needed
• Provide compassionate care to residents with varying diagnoses such as heart disease, diabetes, and dementia

Qualifications

• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Experience in Long Term Care (LTC) settings preferred
• No clinical involvement required; care focused on medication management and wound care

Work Environment

The nurse-to-resident ratio is approximately 1:10 during the day and 1:19 at night. We operate using the Matrix electronic medical records system. There are no IVs, titratable drips, or telemetry monitors within the unit.

Operating Schedule

• Shifts: 12-hour shifts from 7 AM to 7 PM
• Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirements: Every other major holiday
• No call or standby requirements

Team Structure

The structure includes a Director of Nursing (DON) with no additional supervising staff. Physicians are available on-call by phone for non-emergent concerns.

Orientation and Training

New hires will undergo 2-3 shifts of unit-specific orientation to familiarize themselves with protocols and processes.

Additional Information

• Oxygen therapy equipment including concentrators and portable concentrators are available
• Pharmacy services are off-site for medication dispensing
• Physical Therapy (PT) services are available as needed, and there is a designated Social Worker
