Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join a long-term care facility. This position entails performing essential nursing duties, including medication administration and wound care, with a commitment to providing high-quality patient care for residents with various diagnoses such as heart disease, diabetes, and dementia.

Facility Information

• Number of Beds/Residents: 26 beds
• Electronic Medical Record (EMR) System: MatrixCare

Nursing Ratios

• Nurse to Patient Ratio: 1:10 during the day, 1:19 at night

Job Duties

• Act as charge nurse while overseeing medication administration and wound care.
• Ensure comprehensive care for residents by working collaboratively within the nursing team.

Qualifications

• Current BLS certification required.
• Experience in long-term care (LTC) preferred.
• Valid nursing license is necessary for submission.

Additional Information

• IVs or titratable drips are not utilized in this facility.
• No telemetry monitoring is present; nurses are not required to interpret strips.
• Physician availability is by phone on-call after hours.
• Interdisciplinary team includes physical therapy as needed and a social worker designee.
• Oxygen therapy equipment available includes concentrators and portable units.
• Pharmacy is off-site with medication dispensing managed accordingly.
• Shifts: 12-hour shifts from 7 AM to 7 PM.
• Weekend and holiday requirements are every other weekend and every other major holiday.
• Orientation consists of 2 to 3 shifts of unit-specific training.
