Position Summary

The Registered Nurse provides and coordinates patient care through assessment, evaluation, and treatment, with a primary goal of achieving wellness and recovery.

Essential Functions

• Conduct assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of all aspects of care for patients within scope of practice.
• Provide education to patients based on their individual needs.
• Transcribe, utilize, and implement protocols and physician orders.
• Coordinate the healthcare team and delegate appropriate tasks to ancillary personnel.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education

Graduation from an accredited school of nursing is required.

Experience

Previous experience in a hospital setting is preferred.

Credentials

• Must hold a current, valid RN license from the State of Wyoming and maintain good standing with the Board of Nursing.
• Current, valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required and must be maintained throughout employment.
• Current, valid Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification is required if performing circulating or recovery room duties for C-sections, as determined by the Department Director.
• Current, valid Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification is required if caring for pediatric patients.
• Current, valid Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification is required and must be maintained for assignment to the Family Care Unit.
• Labor and Delivery nurses must complete Intermediate Electronic Fetal Monitoring training within the first year after orientation and Advanced Electronic Fetal Monitoring training within three years of completing labor orientation.
