Description
Position Overview
This is a 48-hour contract position in a medical step-down unit, with 16-20 patient beds. The nursing staff will be expected to manage a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:4.
Patient Population
The unit provides care for patients with a variety of conditions, including but not limited to:
- Sepsis
- Heart Failure
- Hypertensive Emergency
- Respiratory Failure
- Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)
- Chronic Kidney Disease
- Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM)
- Substance Abuse
- Status Epilepticus
- Encephalopathy
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience
- Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification

Role Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to patients as outlined in individualized care plans.
- Monitor patient conditions and report changes to the healthcare team.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to coordinate patient care.
- Educate patients and families regarding care plans and health management.
