Description

Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Summary

The Registered Nurse works collaboratively with other members of the healthcare team, plans and implements patient and family education, and is responsible for assessing patient needs and initiating appropriate interventions.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Current Montana Licensure (Registered Nurse)
  • American Heart Association BLS certification
  • STABLE and Neonatal Resuscitation Program Certifications (recertification required every 2 years)
  • Competence in and willingness to practice modified primary nursing

Essential Job Functions

  • Collect comprehensive data pertinent to the patient's health or situation (Assessment).
  • Analyze assessment data to determine diagnoses or issues (Diagnosis).
  • Identify expected outcomes for an individualized plan for the patient or situation.
  • Develop a plan that prescribes strategies and alternatives to attain expected outcomes (Plan of Care).
  • Implement the identified plan of care.
  • Employ strategies to promote health and a safe environment.
  • Systematically enhance the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice.
  • Attain knowledge and competency that reflect current nursing practice.
  • Evaluate one's own nursing practice in relation to professional standards and guidelines.

  • Collaborate with patients, families, and others in conducting nursing practice.
  • Integrate ethical provisions in all areas of practice.
  • Integrate research findings into practice.

Stroke Competency

  • Comply with policies, procedures, protocols, and guidelines related to the care for patients with hyperacute and acute stroke.
  • Participate in two hours of initial cerebrovascular disease education within one year of hire.
  • Participate in one hour annually of cerebrovascular disease education.

Schedule Requirements

This role requires regular attendance and may require working beyond a standard workweek, including weekends and after-hours shifts. Flexibility may be necessary to respond promptly to organizational needs.
