Description
Facility Overview
Join a dynamic healthcare team at a Level II Trauma Center with a total of 492 beds located in Montgomery, AL. This facility features a Level III NICU and serves as a Primary Stroke Center.
Position Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist who will provide high-quality care to a diverse patient population, including trauma, orthopedic, neuro, cardiac, post-operative, ICU, and MedSurg patients. The therapist will be responsible for evaluating patients and developing treatment plans, working closely with support staff to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Patient Care Responsibilities
- Conduct initial evaluations and follow up with treatments for patients in the ED and throughout the hospital.
- Manage a caseload of approximately 10-12 patients per therapist, ensuring comprehensive care.
- Collaborate with a team of healthcare professionals to provide effective treatment for various patient conditions.
Qualifications
- Must hold a valid MSPT/DPT certification.
- Current BLS certification is required.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a clinical setting is preferred; first-time travelers are welcome with at least 2 years of experience.
- Acute care experience is highly desired.
- Strong adaptability skills and a teamwork-oriented mindset are essential.
Support and Resources
The unit is supported by CNAs, receptionists, and charge nurses, ensuring an efficient workflow and support during patient care.
Technology and Equipment
Familiarity with Cerner/Powerchart EMR systems is beneficial for efficient patient management and documentation.
Orientation and Training
A comprehensive 3-day orientation will be provided, with additional support during the first week or two by partnering new therapists with a Rehab Aide for guidance and assistance.
Scheduling and Availability
- Standard scheduling is Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
- Weekend rotation is expected once per month.
- Therapists may be asked to assist with holiday coverage, specifically during Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Parking
Free on-site parking is available in the front lot or parking decks for all staff members.
Scrub Color
The designated scrub colors are navy blue or dark green.
