Medical-Surgical Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Summary

We are seeking dedicated Medical-Surgical Telemetry Registered Nurses (RNs) to provide high-quality care to adult and geriatric patients across multiple facilities within the region. The ideal candidates will possess strong clinical skills and be flexible in their ability to float among various units within the designated zone, ensuring optimal patient care and support.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients with various diagnoses, including cardiac, neuro, oncology, renal, and general medicine.
• Float within a 60-mile radius to different facilities as needed, demonstrating adaptability and teamwork.
• Adhere to patient care standards and protocols, maintaining high levels of patient safety and satisfaction.
• Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including medical staff and other healthcare professionals.
• Monitor patient conditions, respond to changes, and administer appropriate interventions in a timely manner.
• Possess strong communication skills to educate patients and families about health conditions and self-care post-discharge.

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Minimum of 2 years of Medical-Surgical Telemetry experience within the last 3 years.
• Preferred experience in neuro, along with familiarity with Alaris and EPIC systems.
• Current certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS).
• Ability to titrate drips as per protocols, including Common titratable drips.

Patient Care and Environment

• Patient ratios of 1:5-6 based on acuity levels.
• Collaborative environment with access to respiratory therapy equipment as needed (vents, CPAP, BiPAP).
• Ability to float between units including ICU, PCU/Stepdown, and MS-Tele as required.

Scheduling and Requirements

• Shifts are scheduled 6 weeks in advance; flexibility is essential.
• Travelers must commit to working a minimum of 6-9 weekend shifts within a 6-week schedule.
• Orientation attendance is mandatory; clinicians need to be present in-state during this time.
• Cancellations may occur, with a maximum of 4 shifts cancelable within a 13-week assignment.

Work Environment

This role requires the capability to float within the designated zone, which encompasses various facilities. Candidates must secure housing that allows for commuting within the 60-mile radius. The expected work culture emphasizes teamwork, flexibility, and a commitment to delivering excellent patient care.
