Position Overview

This position in a high-acuity cardiovascular operating room (CVOR) requires experienced professionals who are able to scrub in a fast-paced and complex environment. The ideal candidate will have expertise in a range of cardiovascular surgical procedures and the capability to work with multiple surgeons efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Scrub for various cardiovascular procedures, including CABG, MVR, AVR, kidney transplant, robotics, and thoracic surgeries.
• Assist with high-specialty cases such as peripheral vascular surgeries, aortic repair, vascular access, hybrid procedures (TEVAR/EVAR, TAVR), and implantation of devices like Impella and IABP.
• Maintain high standards of patient care in accordance with established protocols and guidelines.
• Support the surgical team by preparing the operating room and ensuring all necessary equipment is available and functioning.

Qualifications

• 3 years of experience in cardiovascular surgery as a Surgical Technologist.
• Must have the ability to go "on bypass."
• Required certifications include Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) and Basic Life Support (BLS).
• No BSN is required for this position.

Work Environment

The position requires flexibility as the facility provides 24/7 in-house coverage. Candidates must be willing to work varying shifts, including weeknights, weekends, and holidays, with mandatory call or standby requirements. Call response time is expected to be within 30 minutes.

Daily parking is available for a fee, with various options for on and off-campus garages and lots for monthly parking passes.

Orientation and Training

Unit-specific orientation will be provided to ensure a smooth integration into the team.

Cancellation Policy

The facility reserves the right to cancel a limited number of shifts during the assignment period.

Charting System

The electronic health record system in use is EPIC.
