Description
We are seeking skilled Critical Care Registered Nurses to join our team. This role involves providing high-quality nursing care to critically ill patients in a dynamic environment.
Location
Various locations within the region, including City, State.
Unit Information
- Unit: Critical Care Unit (CTICU/CVICU)
- Number of Beds: 24
- Patient Ratios: 1:1 to 1:2, with a high number of 1:1 assignments
- Common Diagnoses: Cardiac surgery recovery, Empallas, IABP, CRRT, lung transplant, thoracic procedures, TAVR.
- High Acuity Cases: Travelers with IABP and CABG experience can manage patients.
Qualifications
- Certifications Required: BLS, ACLS (CCRN preferred)
- Experience: ICU experience is essential, with CVICU experience preferred.
- Education: BSN not required for submission, but preferred qualifications will be considered.
- License: A valid nursing license is mandatory.
- Trauma Level: Level 1 Trauma experience is required.
Skills and Competencies
- Strong IV skills required; no IV team available.
- Ability to pass a dysrhythmia exam prior to acceptance and maintain competency in sterile field practices.
- Capability to perform bedside procedures including bronchoscopy, Swan catheter placement, and epidural administration.
Work Requirements
- Weekend Shifts: 4 total shifts per 4 weeks
- Holidays: Based on unit coverage
- Shift Type: 12-hour night shifts
- Orientation: 2 days of floor-specific orientation.
Additional Notes
- RN staff will complete pass/fail SIMs Lab for Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes.
- Natural hair color and no facial piercings required; men must be clean-shaven for fit testing.
- Travel teams must have their own transportation.
- High-performance expectations concerning maintaining sterile environments.
