Description
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled MRI Technologist to join our dynamic radiology team. This position involves performing magnetic resonance imaging procedures to assist in diagnosing and treating patients. The ideal candidate will have experience with GE MRI systems and possess a strong foundation in patient care and imaging protocols.
Responsibilities
- Perform MRI scans and ensure high-quality images are captured for diagnostic purposes.
- Prepare patients for imaging procedures, addressing any concerns and ensuring comfort.
- Administer contrast agents and start IVs as needed during imaging procedures.
- Maintain patient records and imaging documentation in the EMR and PACS systems.
- Collaborate with radiologists to discuss findings and ensure appropriate protocols are followed.
- Follow safety and hygiene protocols to minimize risks to patients and staff.
- Participate in department-specific orientation and continuous education to stay updated on advanced imaging techniques.
Qualifications
- Current ARRT certification in MRI (ARRT MR).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Previous experience operating GE MRI systems is preferred.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Working Conditions
- Shifts consist of 3x12 hours typically on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, from 9 AM to 9:30 PM.
- Participation in weekend and holiday shifts is required.
- On-call duties typically include one night per week and one weekend per month.
Equipment
The department is equipped with a GE 1.5T MRI scanner. Familiarity with PACS and EMR systems, specifically Epic and Fujifilm Synapse, is beneficial.
Location
This position is located in San, CA. Candidates must be within a 60-mile radius of the location.
Dress Code
The dress code requires black pants and a royal blue top; scrubs are not provided.
Additional Information
The hospital has the ability to cancel up to 4 shifts within a 13-week assignment or 3 shifts for shorter assignments. Department-specific orientation will be provided to ensure new staff are familiar with protocols and equipment.
