General Information
Location: Rapid City, SD
Facility Type: Level II Trauma Center, Level III NICU, Level II Pediatric Trauma
Teaching Hospital with a capacity of 417 beds.
Job Summary
We are seeking dedicated Registered Respiratory Therapists to join our team. The ideal candidates will provide care to pediatric and neonatal patients, as well as manage general inpatient respiratory care. Candidates must be prepared to care for NICU patients as needed.
Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality respiratory care in various patient settings, including Pediatric Critical Care and Neonatal Critical Care.
- Utilize advanced respiratory therapy equipment and techniques.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Document patient care accurately using the EPIC charting system.
Schedule
Weekend rotation is required, with every other weekend scheduled. Team members are expected to work on holidays that fall within contract dates.
Qualifications
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification is required; the manager may consider Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) based on experience.
- South Dakota RCP License is required prior to submission.
- Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, and PALS are necessary; NRP certification is required for NICU work.
- AA Degree in Respiratory Therapy or related field.
- 1-2 years of experience preferred.
Support & Resources
Support is available to staff with Charge RT and Respiratory Clinical Specialists present 24/7.
Floating may occur within the hospital and emergency department, but staff will not float to external facilities unless specifically hired for that purpose.
Orientation & Training
Orientation includes comprehensive training on facility and unit protocols, ensuring that all personnel are well-prepared for their roles.

Approved time off may be requested, up to 7 days, contingent upon departmental staffing needs. Extensions for contracts may be arranged for longer time off.
