Description
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills and a commitment to providing high-quality care to patients across various departments.
Unit/Department Information
- Float Pool encompassing ICU, MedSurg Tele, and PCU.
- East Campus and West Campus serve as locations for patient care.
- Average census of 20 patients in Stepdown and 95 beds in MedSurg Tele.
- Nurse-to-Patient Ratios:
- PCU: 1 nurse to 4 patients
- MedSurg Tele: 1 nurse to 5-6 patients
Required Qualifications
- At least 1 year experience in an ICU setting.
- Current certifications in BLS and ACLS.
- Ability to interpret dysrhythmias.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer medications and manage IV titration for drips including Heparin, Cardizem, Amiodarone, Nitro, Dopamine, Dobutamine, and Insulin.
- Provide care for a diverse patient population, including geriatric and orthopedic patients, as well as post-procedural care.
- Assist with monitoring and maintaining patient safety and comfort.
- Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Schedule and Work Environment
- Shifts: 7 AM - 7 PM and 7 PM - 7 AM, with flexibility required.
- Scheduling is managed by a dedicated float pool scheduler, published 6 weeks in advance.
- Weekend requirements: Every other weekend.
- Holiday requirements: Inclusion in permanent staff rotation.
Additional Information
- Nursing aides will be available in all settings to assist nursing staff.
- Units equipped with necessary respiratory therapy equipment including CPAP, BiPAP, and Heated High Flow.
- Telemetry services are available, and nurses are required to interpret cardiac strips.
- Unit orientation includes 8 hours of general hospital training and 24 hours of unit-specific training.
