Physical Therapist (PT)

Position Overview

This is a contract position for a Physical Therapist (PT) with a duration of 13 weeks, offering a full-time schedule from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM. The role requires rotating weekend shifts every 3 to 4 weeks.

Unit Information

Located in Austin, TX, this unit consists of 72 beds and a small, cohesive team that includes 2 Physical Therapists (PT), 1 Occupational Therapist (OT), and PRN Speech Therapists (ST). The unit emphasizes strong communication and collaboration among team members to provide comprehensive patient care.

Qualifications

• Required: Acute care experience, including ICU/CCU backgrounds, as you may be the sole PT on weekends.
• Preferred: Experience in wound care.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct therapy sessions for patients recovering from open heart surgeries, TAVR, and LVAD implants.
• Utilize effective communication tools, such as mobile applications, to coordinate care with other healthcare providers.
• Work closely with an experienced team to ensure a high standard of patient care and assist staff across various needs.

Work Environment

This is a supportive and collaborative environment where the tenure of staff is notable, with team members having 15 and 30+ years of experience. The presence of a certified wound care therapist adds specialized knowledge to the unit.

Dress Code

Dress requirements include Caribbean blue scrubs and either khaki bottoms with a navy polo or similar professional attire.
