Unit Information

• Number of Beds: 38 (including trauma bays, burn room, psych room, vertical treatment area)
• Number of Staff: Variable according to volume and acuity; a charge nurse is always available.
• Type of Staff:
  • Registered Nurses (RNs)
  • Advanced Paramedics
  • EMTs
  • Unit Secretaries
• Patient Ratios: Variable based on acuity and volume
• Type of Equipment: Standard emergency and trauma equipment
• Electronic Medical Record (EMR) System: Meditech

Qualifications

Required Certifications:

• Texas RN licensure or eligibility for compact license
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)

Preferred Qualifications:

• ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course)

Job Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse (RN) will work in the Emergency Department and be responsible for:

• Providing high-quality nursing care to patients in emergency situations
• Performing assessments and developing patient care plans
• Administering medications and treatments as prescribed
• Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure effective patient care
• Participating in quality improvement initiatives and maintaining best practices

Additional Information

Candidates without SAMA, CPI, or equivalent training will have a 30-day grace period to obtain it, as assistance is available for training.

This role may require cross-training for multiple locations within the region.
