Description

Travel Registered Nurse (RN) - NICU

Unit Information

This position is within a Level II-III NICU, designed to provide specialized care for newborns and infants. The unit comprises:

  • Number of Beds: 41
  • Number of Staff: 60
  • Staffing:
    • Day Shift: 1 charge nurse, 9+ RNs
    • Night Shift: 1 charge nurse, 9+ RNs
  • Patient Ratios: 1:1, 1:2, 1:3, 1:4 (rare)
  • Type of Equipment: HFOV, Central Lines, conventional vents, CPAP, NIPPV, Ostomy care
  • Electronic Medical Record (EMR) Systems: CPN and Meditech

Responsibilities

As a Travel Registered Nurse in the NICU, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing high-quality care to neonatal patients, including those requiring respiratory support and MicroPremie care.
  • Assisting with various procedures, including surgeries (except for heads and hearts).
  • Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Qualifications

Required Skills:

  • Must have Level II-III NICU experience.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in a Level III-IV NICU.

Certifications

Required certifications include:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)

Floating Areas

The position may require floating to the nursery as needed.

Scrub Color: Royal Blue

Work Schedule

The position includes:

  • 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule
  • No on-call requirements

Experience Requirements

Minimum of 1 year of experience in a NICU setting is required.
