NICU Registered Nurse (RN)

Unit Information

Location: Plano, TX

  • Number of Beds: 41
  • Number of Staff: 60
  • Staff Composition:
    • Day Shift: 1 charge, 9+ RNs
    • Night Shift: 1 charge, 9+ RNs
  • Patient Ratios: 1:1, 1:2, 1:3, 1:4 (rare)
  • Equipment Used:
    • High-Frequency Oscillatory Ventilation (HFOV)
    • Central Lines
    • Conventional Ventilators
    • Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP)
    • Non-Invasive Positive Pressure Ventilation (NIPPV)
    • Ostomy Care
  • Electronic Medical Record (EMR) Systems: CPN and Meditech

Job Responsibilities

The NICU Registered Nurse will be responsible for providing high-quality care to critically ill newborns. Typical duties include:

  • Administering respiratory support
  • Providing care for MicroPremies
  • Assisting with surgical procedures (excluding heads and hearts)

Qualifications

Required Skills:

  • Level II-III NICU experience

Preferred Skills:

  • Level III-IV experience

Best Personality Fit

Candidates should be team-oriented and possess strong collaboration skills.

Required Certifications

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)

Work Schedule

  • 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule

Scrub color: Royal Blue
