Unit Information
Location: Plano, TX
- Number of Beds: 41
- Number of Staff: 60
- Staff Composition:
- Day Shift: 1 charge, 9+ RNs
- Night Shift: 1 charge, 9+ RNs
- Patient Ratios: 1:1, 1:2, 1:3, 1:4 (rare)
- Equipment Used:
- High-Frequency Oscillatory Ventilation (HFOV)
- Central Lines
- Conventional Ventilators
- Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP)
- Non-Invasive Positive Pressure Ventilation (NIPPV)
- Ostomy Care
- Electronic Medical Record (EMR) Systems: CPN and Meditech
Job Responsibilities
The NICU Registered Nurse will be responsible for providing high-quality care to critically ill newborns. Typical duties include:
- Administering respiratory support
- Providing care for MicroPremies
- Assisting with surgical procedures (excluding heads and hearts)
Qualifications
Required Skills:
- Level II-III NICU experience
Preferred Skills:
- Level III-IV experience

Candidates should be team-oriented and possess strong collaboration skills.
Required Certifications
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
Work Schedule
- 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule
