Unit Information
The Maternal Infant Unit provides care for mothers and newborns in a supportive environment. It is equipped with the necessary resources and staff to ensure optimal patient care.
- Number of Beds: 24
- Number of Staff: 71
- Day Shift Staff: Labor nurses, nursery nurses, OB technicians, secretaries, leadership, educators
- Night Shift Staff: Labor nurses, nursery nurses, OB technicians, secretaries
- Patient Ratios: Labor 1:1, Post-partum 5-6:1, Nursery 5-6:1
- Type of Equipment: GE fetal monitors
- Electronic Medical Records: Meditech, CPN
General Information
This role involves providing care during vaginal deliveries, C-sections, and managing antepartum patients, alongside newborn and postpartum care.
Qualifications
- Required: At least 2 years of labor experience
- Preferred: 2+ years of labor experience in an LDRP setting with high birth volumes
Certifications
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- AWHONN Fetal Monitoring Certification
Additional Information
- Dress Code: Navy blue scrubs with pink badges for infant security
- Weekends: Every third weekend required
