Description
Unit Information
Join a dynamic team in a 30-bed orthopedic unit, dedicated to providing exceptional care for patients undergoing elective orthopedic surgeries as well as trauma cases.

Englewood, CO
General Information
The orthopedic unit is equipped with a variety of specialized equipment, including:
- Continuous Passive Motion (CPM) machines for postoperative care
- Nerve block pumps
- On-Q balls for pain management
The unit utilizes Meditech as its electronic medical record (EMR) system.
Staffing Details
- Charge Nurse: 1
- Bedside RNs: 4-6
- Patient Care Technicians (PCTs): 2-4
Patient to nurse ratios are maintained at 1:5 or 1:6.
Qualifications
To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following qualifications:
- Minimum 1-year experience in an acute care hospital as an Orthopedic RN
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Preferred qualifications include:
- Medical/Surgical experience
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Experience using Meditech EMR
Typical Procedures
Staff members are expected to perform the following procedures:
- IV starts
- Foley and Straight catheterization
- CPM application and early mobilization efforts
