Registered Nurse - NICU

General Information

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse specializing in Neonatal Intensive Care to join our team. This position requires experience in managing the care of critically ill newborns.

Shift Details

• Shift: 7 PM - 7 AM
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Weekend Requirements: Rotating
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week

This NICU unit provides advanced care for infants, utilizing state-of-the-art equipment. The team is committed to delivering high-quality developmental care as part of our family-centered approach.

Required Qualifications

• Active RN License (Temporary licenses will not be accepted)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
• STABLE certification
• Minimum of 2 years of hospital-based experience in a specialty setting
• Experience providing care for infants requiring CPAP or ventilation
• Experience with central line placement and management
• Experience with stabilization of newborns during delivery
• Demonstrated ability in developmental care

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Meditech documentation system

Unit Procedures

• Assistance with line placement
• Assistance with circumcision procedures
• Assistance with intubation procedures

Commitment to family-centered care is essential. The ability to communicate effectively with families and provide compassionate support is crucial for this role.

Dress Code Policy

• Scrub Color: Royal Blue (officially purchased from designated supplier)
• Nail Policy: Clean and healthy nails; no nail polish or artificial nails
• Hair: Neat and clean; extreme styles or colors are not permitted
• Tattoos: Should be covered whenever practical
• Piercings: Visible piercings other than earrings are not allowed
• Fragrance: No perfumes or lotions should be worn

Unit Guidelines

• Floating Guidelines: May be required to float to Newborn Nursery as needed
• Attendance Policy: Adherence to attendance policy is expected
