Description
General Information
Seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist to join a dynamic team. The position is in a specialized environment catering to cardiovascular operating room procedures.
Unit Specifics
- Number of Beds: 2
- Patient Ratios: 1:1
- Unit Staffing Description: Board runner, charge nurse, service line coordinators, and ancillary assistance for room turnovers.
- Type of Equipment: Belmont, ESU, and positioning equipment.
- Documentation System: Meditech Expanse.
- Scheduling Requirements:
- RN: 7 AM - 4 PM (Monday - Thursday)
- RN: 7 AM - 3 PM (Monday - Friday)
- CST: 7 AM - 4 PM (Monday - Thursday)
- CST: 7 AM - 3 PM (Monday - Friday)
- Floating Policy: May float to main operating rooms.
Patient Experience Requirements
Direct patient contact is essential, requiring excellent communication skills, strong provider relations, and a team-oriented approach to problem-solving and issue resolution.
Qualifications
- Requested Skill Set:
- Forward-thinking with the ability to proactively plan for potential issues.
- Strong teamwork oriented.
- Must Have:
- Experience with scrub and circulate procedures.
- Proficiency in room setup and turnover.
- Ability to obtain disposables and instrument sets as needed.
- Advanced Skills Needed:
- Sterile technique.
- Central line setup.
- Art line setup.
- Belmont setup and operation.
- Cell saver setup.
- Procedures Performed: Open heart procedures including CABGs, MVR, TVR, AVR, VATS, and vascular procedures.
- Certifications Required: CNOR certification is preferred.
Dress Code
Scrubs will be provided.
