Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Overview

We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic team on the Medical-Surgical unit. This position provides quality patient care within a collaborative environment focusing on improving patient outcomes and enhancing the overall patient experience.

Unit Information

• Number of Beds: 36
• Patient Ratios: 1:4 / 1:5
• Unit Staffing: Secretary on duty every day, PRN techs available
• Equipment: PD Cyclers, Welch Allyn Vital Sign Carts, Hoyer Lift, Broda Chairs, Alaris IV Pumps
• Documentation System: Meditech
• Scheduling Requirements: Must work 4 weekend shifts in a 4-week block
• Floating Policy: May float over core staff as needed
• Patient Experience Focus: Bedside shift report, safety checks every 1-2 hours, emphasis on communication and responsiveness
• Required Certifications: BLS, NIHSS

Responsibilities

The RN will perform a range of essential duties, including but not limited to:

• Conducting basic patient assessments and administering general patient care
• Managing wounds, tracheostomies, ostomies, drains, and chest tubes
• Providing care for patients with complex conditions, including strokes and seizures
• Overseeing the administration of dialysis, PCA pumps, and Heparin drips as needed
• Assisting with post-operative procedures including amputations, ostomy placements, and wound vacuums

Dress Code

Professional attire is expected, with scrubs permitted in navy, blue, white, black, gray, or ceil blue.

Experience Requirements

Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience preferred.
