Registered Nurse (RN) - NICU

Unit Highlights

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). This is a unique opportunity to be part of a new service line equipped with state-of-the-art technology and a supportive nursing team.

General Information

• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Shift/Workdays: 7A - 7P
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Call Requirements: None

Unit Specifics

• Number of Beds: 6
• Patient Ratios: Estimated 3:1
• Staffing: Minimum of 2 NICU RNs per shift with 24/7 in-house Neonatal Nurse Practitioner coverage, as well as an OB hospitalist and anesthesiologist available at all times.
• Equipment: GE Bedside Monitors, GE beds (Giraffe and Panda Warmers), Natus Neoblue phototherapy lights, Neomed and Medfusion Feeding/Medication pumps.
• Documentation System: Meditech and CPN
• Scheduling Requirements: 3 - 12 hour shifts
• Floating Policy: As needed, to nursery

Qualifications

• Required Certifications:
  • BLS
  • NRP
  • STABLE
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of hospital/specialty experience in a NICU.
• Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with CPAP or Ventilation care for infants
  • Experience with Central Lines
  • Stabilization experience/attending deliveries
  • Developmental care expertise

Responsibilities

• Assist with line placement, circumcision, and intubation as needed.
• Provide family-centered care to ensure optimal patient and family experience.

Dress Code

• Scrub Color: Royal Blue Medical City Healthcare Scrubs (purchased from Scrubs and Beyond)
• Nail Policy: Clean and healthy; no nail polish, artificial nails, or gel.
• Hair: Must be clean, neat, and pulled back if shoulder-length or longer. Mustaches and sideburns should be neatly trimmed.
• Tattoos: Body art should be covered whenever possible.
• Piercings: Visible piercings other than earrings are prohibited.
• Fragrance: No perfumes or lotions.
