Surgical Technologist

Unit Information

The surgery unit focuses on various specialties including cardiac, orthopedic, neurological, vascular, robotic, urology, general, and gynecological surgeries. The candidate must be proficient in scrubbing for cardiac cases and prepared to assist in other surgical areas as needed.

Cancellation Policy

Shifts may be canceled by the facility, with a limit of up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment or 3 shifts for assignments shorter than 13 weeks.

Charting System

The facility utilizes the Cerner charting system.

Qualifications

• Current BLS Certification
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credentials through NBSTSA
• Must possess a valid license to practice as required

Work Environment and Schedule

This position involves working in an acute care setting with a primary focus on surgical services. The shifts are scheduled for 10 hours, from 0630 to 1700, with Thursdays off. Candidates should be willing to take on-call duties and work every other weekend. The role may require floating to various surgical specialties as necessary.

Additional Responsibilities

In addition to scrubbing for cardiac surgeries, the Surgical Technologist will support other surgical procedures in the main operating room and assist with maintaining a sterile environment. Flexibility and adaptability in handling diverse surgical specialties will be essential.
