Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at a 123-bed Level 3 trauma center located in Spokane Valley, WA. The ideal candidate will have experience in providing respiratory care in a variety of settings, including critical care and emergency situations.

Shift Details

The position requires a commitment to weekend shifts, specifically from 6:00 PM to 6:30 AM every other weekend.

Facility Information

This facility offers a supportive and collaborative work environment, with a focus on patient-centered care. The Respiratory Therapist will be an essential part of our healthcare team, caring primarily for adults and geriatric patients, with possible pediatric cases.

Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory care to patients in critical care, emergency, and general settings.
• Utilize ventilators, BiPAP, and HFNC in patient treatment.
• Work collaboratively with nursing and medical staff using the EPIC electronic medical record system.
• Participate in patient assessments and care planning.
• Assist with nursery care as needed, including Bubble CPAP management.

Qualifications

• Required licensure and certifications: RRT, ACLS, BLS, NRP, and PALS.
• A minimum of 2 years of respiratory therapy experience is preferred.
• Strong foundational skills in basic respiratory therapy techniques and critical care.
• Familiarity with all respiratory equipment and accessories.
• Previous experience in a nursery setting is advantageous but not mandatory if NRP certified.

Support and Orientation

The RT team will receive support from a dedicated manager and team lead. New hires will undergo a 1-day hospital orientation followed by 2-3 precepted shifts based on comfort and skill level.

Scheduling and Culture

Shifts are scheduled on a rotating weekend basis, with a schedule released 6 weeks in advance. We are looking for individuals who are engaged, positive, and willing to assimilate with the team culture.
