Description
Job Overview
This role requires a dedicated Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to work in a smaller community hospital located in Spokane Valley, WA. The ideal candidate will demonstrate proficiency in various respiratory skills and a commitment to providing high-quality care to a diverse patient population.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver respiratory care for patients in multiple departments, including medical-surgical, critical care, and emergency settings.
- Manage ventilators, BiPAP, and HFNC therapies, ensuring optimal patient outcomes.
- Utilize knowledge of respiratory equipment and accessories to provide necessary support and care.
- Work collaboratively within a team, covering all assigned areas as needed due to the small facility setting.
Patient Population
Responsibilities will involve primarily adult and geriatric patients, with potential exposure to pediatric or neonatal cases requiring specialized care (e.g., Bubble CPAP).
Schedule & Orientation
- Rotating weekend shifts are required, with hours primarily from 18:00 to 06:30 every other weekend.
- Orientation includes one day of hospital-wide orientation and 2-3 precepted shifts based on comfort level.
- Scheduling cycles are released six weeks in advance, offering predictable planning.
Qualifications
- Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) license, along with required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, and PALS.
- Minimum of two years of relevant experience is preferred; first-time travelers with two years of experience will be considered.
- Experience with nursery care is beneficial but not mandatory if NRP certification is held.
