Job Description

The position requires a Registered Nurse (RN) with an active license in Hawaii, to be obtained upon acceptance of the offer. Proof of flu vaccination or an approved application for a medical or religious exception is mandatory prior to the start date of the contract. The RN will work night shifts totaling 36 hours per week following a week of orientation.

Responsibilities

The RN will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care within the Medical Unit. Duties will include:

• Monitoring and managing patient health conditions
• Administering medications and treatments as prescribed
• Documenting patient progress and care using Meditech EMR
• Utilizing medical equipment, including pyxis, wound vac, and chest tubes
• Collaborating with healthcare teams to develop and implement care plans

Unit Information

The Medical Unit has 77 beds and maintains a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6 for days and evenings, and 1:8 for nights. The RN may be required to float to other units, including the Laulima Unit and Cardiovascular Unit, as needed.

Shift Information

• Night shift position
• 13-week contract with scheduled hours
• Flexible scheduling is required, with no guarantee of hours or shift preference
• Holiday coverage is required

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications are required

Dress Code

Professional nursing attire is required for this position.

Orientation and Training

A comprehensive orientation program will be provided, tailored to each unit's specific needs.
