Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our team in an outpatient surgical center. The nurse will work collaboratively to provide exceptional care to patients while maintaining a professional environment.

Shift Information

8-hour shifts; Monday to Friday, 0615-1445. No weekends, holidays, or on-call requirements.

Minimum Years of Experience

2 years of nursing experience required.

Certifications/Requirements

  • Basic Life Support (BLS/BCLS)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess and address the physical, psychosocial, and spiritual needs of patients, serving as a patient advocate.
  • Utilize professional nursing skills and judgment to implement care and address identified issues.
  • Communicate patient assessments to relevant staff to ensure coordinated care.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of diagnostic measures such as labs, radiology, and EKG; skilled in IV therapy.
  • Accurately transcribe and implement physician orders while efficiently admitting patients to the surgical center.
  • Document patient information in clinical records via computer with accuracy and timeliness.
  • Provide appropriate education to patients and their families.
  • Manage supplies according to policy, ensuring cost-effective use without compromising patient care.
  • Assist with housekeeping duties, such as cleaning and preparing beds as needed.
  • In PACU, assess patients critically and provide necessary care, including airway management and pain control.
  • Familiarize with the patient transfer process and ensure safe transitions.
  • As a float nurse, maintain communication across areas and assist staff to maintain workflow.
  • Work in pain management and eye laser procedure rooms as assigned.
  • Assist with emergency supplies and medications; know the locations of crash carts and response protocols.
  • Participate in committee meetings, providing suggestions for improvements and seeking guidance when needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Holiday coverage is not required.
