Description
Position Summary
The Registered Nurse provides and coordinates patient care through assessment, evaluation, and treatment with a primary goal of achieving wellness and recovery.
Essential Functions
- Conduct assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of all aspects of care for patients within the scope of practice.
- Provide education to patients tailored to their individual needs.
- Transcribe, utilize, and implement protocols and physician orders.
- Coordinate with the healthcare team and delegate appropriate tasks to ancillary personnel.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education
Graduation from an accredited school of nursing is required.
Experience
Previous experience in a hospital setting is preferred.
Credentials
- Must have a current, valid RN license from the state of Wyoming in good standing with the Board of Nursing.
- Must possess a current, valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and maintain credentials throughout employment.
- Must hold a current, valid Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification if performing circulating or recovery room duties for C-sections, as determined by the Department Director.
- Must have a current, valid Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification if caring for pediatric patients.
- Must have a current, valid Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification, maintained throughout employment on the Family Care Unit.
- Nurses working in Labor and Delivery must complete the Intermediate Electronic Fetal Monitoring class within the first year of orientation and the Advanced Electronic Fetal Monitoring class within three years of completing labor orientation.

- Excellent customer service skills, including a friendly personality, tact, patience, empathy, and a professional attitude in person and on the phone.
- Effective communication skills with staff, managers, and the public, both verbally and in writing.
- Strong listening and organizational skills with effective time management and prioritization abilities.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently without immediate supervision.
- Capable of learning new computer software programs.
- Ability to recognize and protect confidential information.
- Demonstrate ethical and legal accountability for the position.
Shift Information
Rotating shifts are required, along with holiday coverage.
Minimum Years of Experience
A minimum of five years of relevant experience is necessary.
