Description
Job Description
The Registered Nurse (RN) will provide emergency health care services to patients of all ages, managing a range of medical situations from minor injuries to critical trauma cases. This role involves a commitment to patient care through assessment, intervention, and monitoring in fast-paced environments.
Responsibilities
- Assess patients' clinical conditions, identifying and interpreting serious situations to prioritize immediate actions.
- Initiate appropriate measures in emergency situations when a physician is not immediately available.
- Operate and monitor general and specialized emergency care equipment, including infusion pumps, pulse oximeters, ventilators, and cardiac monitors.
- Administer therapeutic measures as prescribed, including medications, IV therapy, respiratory therapy, and mechanical ventilation.
- Record observations, nursing interventions, and therapeutic measures administered, coordinating activities between nursing and other professional disciplines.
- Document specific health care requirements for patients, preparing assignments for team members that align with patients' care needs.
- Plan and develop care delivery, implementing care plans and coordinating the documentation of care.
- Ensure adequate supplies and equipment are maintained, supporting the general upkeep of the unit and preserving a safe environment.
Schedule
12-hour shifts are required for this position. Candidates must have a minimum of 3 years of experience.
Qualifications
- Must possess a valid Oklahoma or Compact RN License.
- Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC are required.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to meet pre-employment credentialing clearances, including background checks and drug screens.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, sit, climb stairs, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and to lift up to 50 lbs.
Behavioral Characteristics
- Demonstrated ability to manage adult and pediatric patients in critical situations.
- Experience managing ventilators, CPAP, BIPAP, and Vapotherms, along with critical medication infusions.
- Basic knowledge and skills in caring for stroke patients.
