Registered Nurse (RN) - MedSurg/Oncology

Unit Information

Location: Arlington, TX

Unit: 3N - Oncology Med Surg

Number of Beds: 31

Patient Ratios: 1:5/6

General Information

• Type of Equipment: Standard Med Surg, some traction
• EMR: [To be determined]

Typical Responsibilities

• Provide post-surgical care
• Administer chemotherapy and ensure compliance with neutropenia precautions
• Manage general Med Surg procedures, including Continuous Bladder Irrigation (CBI) and hospice care

Qualifications

Must Have:

• Current Texas RN License (active license required; temporary licenses will not be accepted)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• 2+ years of hospital experience

Preferred:

• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Oncology Certified Nurse (ONC) or chemotherapy experience
• Experience with Meditech EMR
• Med Surg or Oncology certification

Dress Code

• Scrub Color: Royal Blue for RNs
• Nail Policy: Clean and healthy nails; no artificial nails or gel polish
• Hair: Neat and clean, with no extreme styles or colors; should be tied back if shoulder length
• Tattoos: Should be covered whenever possible
• Piercings: Visible piercings other than ears are prohibited

Floating guidelines within Med Surg apply; attendance policies are consistent company-wide.
