Description
Unit Information
Join a team in a specialized unit dedicated to providing exceptional care for trauma patients. The unit has the following characteristics:
- Number of Beds: 20
- Number of Staff: 40
- Patient Ratios: 1:4, with charge nurses free of patient care (estimated ratios)
- Equipment: Vents, Feeding Pumps, IV Pumps, Wound Vacs, Specialty Beds, Suction, Chest Tubes
- EMR: Meditech / CPN
Qualifications
The ideal candidates should have the following qualifications:
- Required:
- Minimum 1-year current acute care hospital PCU experience
- BLS, ACLS, and NIH certifications
- Preferred:
- Experience with Meditech
Procedures Performed
Responsibilities on the unit include:
- Placement of chest tubes
- Bedside bronchoscopy
- Management of chest tubes, trauma patients, tracheostomies, and suction
