General Information

The department includes:

• Three cardiac catheterization labs
• A holding area for in-patients
• A radial lounge for out-patients

Staffing includes:

• A total of 7 technologist positions and 13 registered nurse positions, including the manager
• In the radial lounge, there are 5 registered nurse positions and 1 licensed nursing assistant position

Operation Hours:

• Radial Lounge: 6:00 AM - 6:30 PM
• Cath Lab: 7:30 AM - 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday, with 24-hour call coverage

Equipment used in the unit includes:

• OCT
• IVUS
• Shockwave
• Impella
• IABP
• Pacemakers
• Rota
• CSI
• Opsens
• Cath Works
• Penumbra

The Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system utilized is Sunrise / Allscripts, Mac Lab.

Qualifications

We are seeking candidates with the following skills:

• Critical care experience
• Experience with Impella and IABP
• Experience in titrating drips independently
• Current ACLS certification

Typical Procedures

Common procedures performed in the department include:

• Left heart catheterizations
• Right heart catheterizations
• Drug studies
• TAVR
• TMVR
• ASD/PFO closures
• Stents / angioplasty
• Atherectomy (Rota, CSI, Shockwave)
• Mechanical thrombectomy (INARI and EKOS)
• IABP and Impella insertions
• Mitral Clip procedures
• Temporary wire placements
• Pressure wire placements
• VSD closures
• CarioMems insertions

Dress Code

Scrubs in Ceil Blue will be provided by the organization.

Scheduling and Call

Self-scheduling is utilized for call shifts, typically requiring one day a week and one weekend per month. Call hours begin at 4:30 PM and end at 7:30 AM the following morning, with weekend call running from 4:30 PM Friday to 7:30 AM Monday.
