Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery (RN L&D)

Unit Information

• Number of Beds: 17 inpatient, 2 triage
• Patient Ratios: 1:1-2
• Staffing Description: Secretary on dayshift only, no techs available
• Equipment: Monica Novii, Ambulatory (Telemetry) Monitors, GE EFM
• Documentation System: Meditech, Centricity
• Scheduling Requirements: 3 12-hour shifts per week
• Floating Policy: May float to Mother/Baby or Postpartum
• Patient Experience Requirements: Must demonstrate AIDET, courtesy, and respect

Qualifications

• Must Have: Labor and delivery experience, ability to interpret strips, knowledge of common obstetrical medications, circulator experience in cesarean sections, PACU recovery experience for spinal anesthesia, antepartum triage capabilities, knowledge of common complications and treatments for obstetrical issues, ability to assist with epidural placements, teamwork approach to patient care
• Advanced Skills Needed: Experience with ECV, C/S, vaginal deliveries, assist with vacuum or forceps as needed, epidural placement
• Certifications Required: RN licensure, BLS, ACLS, NRP

Dress Code

Hospital-provided scrubs; change upon arrival and departure.

Unit Policies/Guidelines

Completing 4 weekend shifts within a 4-week schedule is expected. Candidates should be ready for huddle at 6:45 AM.
