Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. This role involves providing advanced nursing care to critically ill patients in an intermediate care setting. The nurse will work in a 16-bed IMCU with a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:4.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor patients with conditions such as sepsis, heart failure, hypertensive emergencies, respiratory failure, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), chronic kidney disease, Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (TDM2), substance abuse, and encephalopathy.
• Administer heparin drips and other IV medications as prescribed.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Provide education and support to patients and their families.
• Document patient care and progress accurately in electronic health records.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adhere to safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Must have at least 2 years of clinical experience in an acute care setting.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and the healthcare team.

Contract Details

This position offers a 48-hour contract with an ASAP start date. The schedule will be discussed during the interview process.
