Description

Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) for a new department focused on rapid patient admissions. This position is available for a limited contract duration and involves working in a fast-paced acute care environment.

Contract Duration

This position is for a 26-week term with a firm start date, either October 5 or October 12.

Shift Details

  • Schedule: 36 hours per week
  • Hours: 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
  • Holiday Requirement: May be required to work on holidays as needed
  • Floating: May be required to float to other units

Key Responsibilities

  • Initiate admission orders for incoming patients
  • Complete the admission navigator process
  • Document the initial admission assessment thoroughly

Qualifications

  • Active Kansas state license or multistate license required
  • BLS and ACLS certifications through AHA required
  • Experience managing cardiac and anticoagulant drips, such as Cardizem and Heparin

This role is situated in a Level II Trauma Center located in Topeka, Kansas, which has been recognized for excellence in patient care. Candidates should be comfortable managing a variety of patient diagnoses in an acute care setting that requires quick and effective decision-making.
