Unit Information
The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) specializes in providing care for critically ill newborns. The unit features 17 beds and is staffed by a dedicated team of 21 professionals.
Staffing and Patient Care
- Day Shift: 4 Clinical Nurse Coordinators (CNCs), 7 Registered Nurses (RNs), and 2 PRN RNs
- Night Shift: 2 Clinical Nurse Coordinators (CNCs), 6 Registered Nurses (RNs), and 1 PRN RN
Patient ratios in the unit range from 1:1 to 3:1, ensuring high-quality, personalized care.
Equipment and Technology
- Phillips monitors
- Giraffe isolettes
- Hamilton ventilators
- RAM cannula
- Baxter IV pumps
- Medfusion syringe pumps
The electronic medical record (EMR) system utilized is Meditech with CPN integration.
Typical Qualifications
The ideal candidates will possess the following:
- Must Have:
- Minimum of 1 year of current acute care Level III NICU hospital experience
- BLS and NRP certifications
- Preferred:
- Delivery experience
- NICU or PICU experience
- PALS certification
Procedures Performed
- UAC and UVC insertion
- Intubation
