Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled ICU Registered Nurse to join our team. The ideal candidate will have robust critical thinking abilities and a strong foundation in intensive care nursing. This position provides an opportunity to deliver high-quality patient care in a fast-paced, supportive environment.

Position Details

• Unit: MICU (4C)
• Shifts: 7A-7:30P / 7P-7:30A
• Workdays: Every other weekend
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality patient care to critically ill patients in the ICU.
• Monitor, record, and report changes in patient conditions.
• Perform essential nursing procedures such as administering medication, managing IV lines, and assisting with medical procedures.
• Collaborate with medical staff to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Document patient information and maintain accurate records in the Meditech system.
• Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, including attendance and badging routines.

Qualifications

• Required Skills:
• Minimum 2-3 years of ICU experience.
• Strong critical thinking skills.
• Current ACLS and BLS certification.
• NIH Stroke Certification.
• Preferred Skills:
• Experience in MICU and MSICU.
• Exposure to IABP and CRRT.
• Familiarity with the Meditech documentation system.
• Licensure: Active TX RN License (Temporary licenses will not be accepted).

Unit-Specific Procedures

• Chest tubes, tracheostomies, GI scopes.
• Intubations, central lines, arterial lines.
• NG tubes, Foley catheters, dressing changes.

Dress Code

• Scrub Color: Navy scrub top and pant, navy or white scrub jacket.
• Nail Policy: Clean and healthy nails.
• Hair: Neat and clean with no extreme styles or colors; facial hair should be neatly trimmed.
• Tattoos: Should be covered whenever possible; those that cannot be covered will be addressed individually.
• Piercings: Only visible ear piercings are permitted.
