ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

An ICU Registered Nurse is needed to join our team for night shifts. The role involves working in a combined ICU/Telemetry unit that focuses on the close monitoring of patients with serious illnesses or those recovering after critical care. This position provides an excellent opportunity for individuals with modest ICU experience.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients in the ICU/PCU/Telemetry unit.
• Monitor and assess patient conditions, focusing on a variety of cases including gastrointestinal issues, diabetes ketoacidosis, chest pain, congestive heart failure, and pneumonia.
• Occasionally float to the Medical-Surgical unit or Emergency Room as needed.
• Manage limited ventilator support and assist in basic patient care activities.

Shift Details

• Shift: Night shifts from 7 PM to 7 AM.
• Schedule: 3 shifts per week.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 4 to 5 years of ICU experience.
• Must hold valid BLS and ACLS certifications from AHA.
• Current licensure in Louisiana or a multistate license.
• Acuity in this unit is generally low with routine patient monitoring similar to a PCU/Stepdown unit.

This position is located in Bastrop, LA. Prospective candidates should be aware that housing in the area is limited. It may be beneficial to consider options in nearby Monroe/West Monroe for accommodation.
