Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Labor and Delivery Nurse to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong skills in labor and delivery, with a focus on providing comprehensive care to mothers and their newborns.

Responsibilities

• Conduct cervical exams and manage antepartum and labor processes.
• Perform amnioinfusions and administer epidurals as needed.
• Monitor fetal well-being through effective fetal monitoring techniques.
• Initiate and manage IV therapy and Pitocin administration.
• Circulate in C-sections and assist in baby catching and receiving.
• Evaluate newborns using the APGAR scoring system.
• Provide support and education regarding breastfeeding.
• Deliver comprehensive postpartum care from transition to discharge for mothers and infants.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience required.
• Certifications: BLS, NRP, and fetal monitoring are mandatory.
• Strong knowledge of labor and delivery procedures and postpartum care.
• Experience in scrubbing is a bonus, though not required.
• Proficiency in Epic EMR is strongly preferred.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural environment; knowledge of Spanish or Russian is preferred.

Work Environment

The facility features a total of 20 beds, including 12 Labor and Delivery, 8 Postpartum/Antepartum rooms, 3 OB/ED rooms, 2 ORs, and a 6-bed Level II NICU.

Additional Information

This position does not require on-call duties, and teal scrubs are provided for staff. Ideal candidates will demonstrate comfort and expertise in the full spectrum of labor and delivery practices.
