Description
Job Summary
The X-Ray Technologist operates x-ray equipment to produce radiographs of designated portions of the body as ordered by physicians. This role requires precise positioning and instruction of patients prior to examinations, as well as adjustments to the x-ray equipment. The technologist is responsible for determining the proper voltage, current, and exposure time for each radiograph to ensure high-quality images for diagnostic purposes.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate x-ray equipment to generate accurate radiographs as prescribed by healthcare providers.
- Position patients appropriately and provide clear instructions to ensure optimal imaging results.
- Adjust x-ray machinery settings, including voltage, current, and exposure time for each radiograph.
- Maintain equipment functionality and safety standards in compliance with health regulations.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to deliver comprehensive patient care.
Qualifications
- Registered Radiologic Technologist certification (or equivalent qualifications).
- Proficient in the operation of x-ray machines and related imaging equipment.
- Strong understanding of radiographic techniques and safety protocols.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for patient interaction.
- Attention to detail and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
