Physical Therapist

Job Summary

The Physical Therapist will work within an acute care setting, responsible for evaluating and treating adult patients, including trauma and critical care cases. The ideal candidate will demonstrate proficiency in handling a variety of diagnoses and will provide direct patient care as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform evaluations for patients, with an expectation of one completed evaluation per hour.
• Manage daily treatments, aiming for 10 completed treatments during an 8-hour shift when applicable.
• Collaborate with rehabilitation aides and support staff, including physical therapist assistants and technicians.
• Participate in precepting as needed to support team development.
• Ensure adherence to hospital protocols and procedures during all patient interactions.

Work Environment

• Work primarily in inpatient acute care settings.
• May occasionally cover services at another location within the region.
• Orientation provided upon onboarding, including training on electronic medical records and facility protocols.

Patient Population

The patient population primarily consists of adults and older teens, including those with:

• Level III trauma
• Telemetry needs
• Orthopedic conditions
• Surgical recovery
• Critical care and neuro conditions
• Oncology and general medicine

Qualifications

• Recent graduates are encouraged to apply, particularly those with strong clinical experience in adult acute care settings.
• Current license to practice in the state required.
• BLS certification is mandatory.

Work Schedule

• Shifts are from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with alternating weekends.
• Compensatory day off will be provided during the week for any weekend days worked.

Additional Information

• Call outs are discouraged and may result in termination.
• Holidays are shared among the staff on a rotating basis.
• Uniform color is maroon scrubs.
