Job Description

We are seeking a qualified Speech Therapist with acute care experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will be independent and proficient in completing Modified Barium Swallow Studies (MBS) in a radiology setting without supervision by a radiologist.

General Job Duties

• Conduct rehabilitation sessions in acute care and skilled nursing facilities (SNF).
• Perform Modified Barium Swallow Studies independently.
• Possibility of referrals for outpatient care.

Equipment Utilized

• Meditech computerized documentation for inpatient records.
• Paper and pencil for outpatient documentation.

Required Skills and Experience

• Must be able to complete MBS studies independently.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience, preferably with SNF or rehabilitation hospital experience.

Licensure and Certifications

• BLS certification.
• Hawaii State license in the appropriate discipline (must obtain prior to the start of the assignment).

Shift and Schedule Requirements

The schedule generally consists of 5 days per week, likely including one weekend day. Holiday coverage is also required.

Floating Requirements

There may be a possibility of floating to another facility based on patient census and staffing needs.

Dress Code

Scrubs or as per established dress code policies.

Training

Training in electronic medical record (EMR) documentation will be provided, along with orientation to the rehabilitation area and expectations.
