General Information

• Unit Name: CSSU
• Number of Beds: 15 beds
• Patient Ratios: 4:1
• Unit Staffing Description: 1-2 LNA support available
• Type of Equipment: GE Monitors, Hamilton Bipap and Hiflo, Baxter IV Pumps, Hemospheres
• Documentation System: Meditech Expanse
• Scheduling Requirements: 12 shifts per month (3 shifts weekly), including 4 weekend shifts. Scheduling is managed by department leadership considering RTO (Requested Time Off).
• Floating Policy: Floating will occur on a rotational basis, with Travelers floating first.
• Patient Experience Requirements: MyCare boards are updated at each shift during bedside report, which is conducted at every shift change.

Unit Certifications

• Comprehensive Stroke Center
• Level 2 Trauma Center

Hiring Profile

Requested Skill Set

• Must Have:
  • Strong telemetry skills
  • Experience in titrating vasoactive medications (e.g., levophed, phenylephrine, dopamine, dobutamine)
  • Experience with chest tube management
• Preferred: Candidates with the following skills will be prioritized:
  • Arterial Lines
  • Flo-Tracs
  • Temporary Pacing

Procedures Performed on Unit

• Temporary Pacing
• Pre-operative preparation for cardiovascular surgery
• Chest-tube removal, arterial line removal

Certifications Required

• ACLS
• BLS

Dress Code

Scrubs (color does not matter).

Additional Information

• Specialization in Cardiovascular and Vascular surgery
• Access to mobility team support
• Patient monitoring via a central monitoring station
