Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Telemetry Registered Nurse to join our team in Independence, MO. This position offers a dynamic environment where you will provide critical patient care while collaborating with other healthcare professionals.

Unit Information

• Number of Beds: 36
• Patient Ratios: 1:3 AM, 1:4 PM, 1:4 AM, 1:5 PM (with patient care technicians)
• Unit Staffing Description: Total RN-based care; unit secretaries available from 7 AM to 7 PM.
• Type of Equipment: BiPAP, Heated High-Flow Nasal Cannulas, Alaris IV pumps, Kangaroo Feeding Pumps
• Documentation System: Meditech
• Floating Policy: PRN floats once per week; full-time and part-time staff float in rotation.

Scheduling Requirements

• Full-Time Staff: 36 hours/week with every 3rd weekend rotation
• Part-Time Staff: 48 hours/week with every 3rd weekend rotation
• PRN Staff: Requires shifts to be completed in a specified 4-week period, with weekend shift requirements based on the PRN staff designation.

Patient Care Expectations

• Bedside shift report
• Hourly rounding
• Daily leadership rounds

Qualifications

• Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS
• Advanced assessment and critical thinking skills
• Experience in managing vasoactive drips

Typical Procedures

The Telemetry Unit may perform several clinical procedures, including Central Line or PICC line placement.

Dress Code

Required uniform includes charcoal grey scrub tops and charcoal grey or black scrub bottoms. Black or charcoal grey jackets are permitted, with the option to order unit-specific jackets.
