Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Medical-Surgical unit. This position offers guaranteed hours and is ideal for candidates who thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Unit Information

• Number of Beds: 32
• Staff Size: 49
• Staff Structure:
  • Day Shift: 1 Charge RN, 6-8 RNs, 4 Patient Care Technicians (PCTs), 1 Unit Secretary
  • Night Shift: 1 Charge RN, 6-8 RNs, 4 PCTs, 1 Unit Secretary until 10 PM
• Patient Ratios: 1:4 TPC; 1:5 with PCT, can go up to 6 patients with PCT at times
• Equipment: Welch Allyn devices
• Electronic Medical Record (EMR): Meditech

Qualifications

We are looking for candidates with the following qualifications:

• Required Skills:
  • BLS certification
• Preferred Skills:
  • ACLS or PALS certification
  • Basic Dysthymia class

Typical Procedures

This unit is involved in various procedures, including:

• Total joint replacements
• Complex spine care
• Complex neurosurgery cases
• General surgery

• Floating Areas: Med/Tele; Surgical Specialty Floor
• Dress Code: Royal blue top and bottom; may include black scrub bottoms
• Weekend Rotation: Every 3rd weekend; nights can be either Friday, Saturday, or Sunday
