Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN) to join our fast-paced unit dedicated to providing high-quality patient care. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a positive attitude, strong teamwork skills, and a commitment to patient-oriented care.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to patients with common diagnoses including heart failure, atrial fibrillation, respiratory distress, and stroke.
• Manage and titrate IV drips such as Cardizem, amiodarone, and nitroglycerin as part of patient care.
• Monitor and interpret telemetry strips, ensuring accurate readings and prompt response to any abnormalities.
• Work collaboratively with charge nurses and healthcare teams, participating in a structured cyclical scheduling process.
• Support and assist with patient care technician duties for optimal team efficiency.

Qualifications

• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications are required.
• Must possess a valid nursing license and be licensed to practice in the state.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
• Prior experience in a Stepdown, Telemetry, or similar acute care setting is strongly preferred.

Working Conditions

• Shifts available: 0630-1900 and 1830-0700, with a rotating schedule.
• Weekend requirements: Every other weekend, with holiday commitment for one major and one minor holiday each year.
• Candidates may be required to float to the ICU if appropriate and experienced.
• Fast-paced environment with a high volume of patient admissions and discharges.

Additional Information

• Artificial nails are not permitted due to patient safety standards.
• One 12-hour shift of unit-specific orientation provided.
• Only candidates residing outside a 50-mile radius from the unit will be considered.
