Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) for a position in the Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR). The ideal candidate will possess extensive expertise in providing surgical assistance during various cardiovascular procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the setup and management of surgical instruments and equipment during cardiovascular surgeries.
• Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure optimal patient care and safety during procedures.
• Maintain a sterile environment and adhere to all surgical protocols and policies.
• Participate in the transportation and positioning of patients prior to surgery.
• Document patient care and surgical procedures accurately.

Qualifications

• Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) is mandatory.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
• Minimum of two years of experience in a CVOR setting is required.
• Previous travel assignments in surgical settings are preferred.
• Extensive experience with procedures such as CABG, valve replacement, VAD insertions, and more is highly desirable.
• First Assistant experience is preferred but not required.

Unit Information

• Scrub colors will be provided by the facility.
• Unit features 6 operating rooms with a patient ratio requiring 1 scrub and 1 circulator.
• The documentation system used is Cerner.
• On-call shifts may be assigned and rotated among staff.

The unit has received accolades for surgical outcomes, including a three-star rating with The Society of Thoracic Surgeons (STS).
