Description

Interventional Radiology Nurse

Facility Overview

Join a renowned healthcare facility located in Montgomery, AL, with a focus on providing exceptional patient care. The facility has 492 beds and is equipped as a Level II Trauma Center and a Level III NICU, as well as a certified Primary Stroke Center.

Unit Information

  • Number of Beds: 7 Pre/Post Bays, 2 Procedural Suites
  • Patient Types: Outpatient and Inpatient, including biopsies, uterine fibroid embolization (UFE), kyphoplasties, port placements, diagnostic angiograms, interventional arterial and venous procedures, IVC placements, venous thrombectomies, neurological thrombectomies, coilings, aneurysm rupture repairs, paracentesis, and thoracentesis.
  • Patient Ratios: 1:1 in procedure rooms; up to 1:3 in pre/post areas

Qualifications

  • Experience: 1-year experience accepted; first-time travelers are welcome with at least 2 years of experience.
  • Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
  • Required Skills: ICU care, moderate sedation, arterial line management, medication titration, chest tube management.

Support and Technology

  • Support on the Unit: Charge Nurse available for assistance.
  • Technology/Equipment:
    • EMR: Cerner
    • IV Pumps: Plum 360
    • Medication Dispensing: Omnicell
    • Monitors: Spacelabs

Scheduling and Orientation

  • Facility Hours: Routine procedures Monday through Friday from 6:30 AM to 4:30 PM, with emergency availability 24/7.
  • Orientation: 2 shifts on the unit, with 1-2 shifts dedicated to education and onboarding.
  • Shift Types:
    • 4 shifts of 10 hours per week with a rotating day off
    • 3 shifts of 12 hours per week with rotating days off
  • Holiday Expectations: All staff are treated equally regarding holiday coverage.
  • Time Off Approval: Managed by the Nurse Manager.

Additional Information

  • Scrub Color: Any color allowed; green scrubs provided for procedures.
  • Parking: Assigned parking available in the hospital parking deck.
