Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to provide care in a high-acuity medical-surgical and respiratory care unit. This position offers the opportunity to work with a diverse patient population and a variety of diagnoses.

Responsibilities

• Deliver nursing care to patients with conditions such as pneumonia, COPD exacerbations, gastrointestinal bleeding, osteomyelitis, diabetic foot infections, hepatic encephalopathy, renal failure, bowel obstructions, and end-of-life care.
• Manage wound care effectively and monitor patient progress.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
• Provide education and support to patients and their families.
• Be prepared to float to other nearby locations as needed.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in New Hampshire or a compact state.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in medical-surgical/telemetry nursing.
• Current BLS certification; NHISS certification required prior to start date; ACLS certification is also required.
• Ability to successfully complete a dysrhythmia exam during onboarding with a preferred score of 80% or higher.
• Familiarity with electronic medical record systems; experience with Cerner is preferred but not mandatory.
• Current skills checklist aligned with the specialty.

Additional Information

This nursing unit consists of 20 beds with nurse-to-patient ratios typically being 1:5, occasionally 1:6. The position may require floating to other locations within the region.
